Thanks for the forward, Carole, AND to Chris for posting (What I think) is a "necessary protection" for those brave enough and with high moral character, to do the right thing. I honestly believe that many people DO have the moral character, but too often, the consequences they would suffer for doing the right thing, is more than they can endure... like job loss and other retributions. Too many crooked people get away with bad behavior simply because of position or privilege.

Protecting the whistle blowers is an absolute necessity; otherwise, the corruption will continue because people will be unwilling to report it for fear of repercussions. Taxpayers are paying considerable sums of money for criminals to be placed in "witness protection programs" when they agree to testify against one another to avoid jail time, so how can we justify NOT protecting people with good intentions when they're trying to right a wrong?
