Murdering a Humpback Whale in the Netherlands

Animals  (tags: animalcruelty, cruelty, killing, slaughter, whales )

Johannes the whale was cruelly killed while he was fighting for his life. Rescuers were banned from the area. It is a scandal and we are furious!! Ecomare, Naturalis, Dolfin park Harderwijk and the isle of Texel are responsable for this slaughter.

They blocked a rescue of the living whale because it's skeleton was already sold so they administered a lethal injection!!! I am beyond disgusted with such sick exploitation. Boycott Dolfinarium. Who claimed to own the skeleton to be able to sell it in the first place? I am also frustrated with the time it took in rescue attempts. By now better plans should be in place. Saving wildlife should be a noble cause and priority.

It's not dead yet , but they will kill him tomorrow morning.
The authorities refused a assistance attempt by a salvage company with experience !!
It's a stinking case . He could have rescued 2 days ago.
Authorities boycotted this in all ways.
Sickening !!!

These people are nothing but greedy parasites feeding off this poor animal's misery and death for their own purpose and gain. Shame on every last one of them for they have nothing to be proud of.

Noted with sadness, as this whale may have been rescued but died unnecessarily. It is not about numbers: Each and every life matters!!! If the cetacean could have lived but died without having been given a chance by the people who killed the animal, this cannot be either condoned or overlooked -- this does not sound right. It is a pity that his/her rescue came late; it is a shame that other people killed him/her. Such may be life, yet such is my sentiment.

After 3 years they have learned NOTHING!
After Johanna died they presented a protocol on how to act in case a whale would strand on our beaches. I immediately said that this was the worst thing they could have decided....because a whale gets only 12 hours to be set free in the sea, after 12 hours it will be killed, no matter is spring tide is just coming up...12 hours and that is it!
In Jan.2016 five sperm whales stranded...needless to say the protocol came into action and none of them survived....the best thing for any whale or other sea creature is to stay clear of Dutch shores because the Dutch government is far from animal friendly (the netherlands is in the top 5 of least animal friendly countries)
