Here is the article text:

Australia's outback Aborigines will be among the worst affected by climate change as soaring temperatures likely cause more disease and spur distress about the changing landscape, a new report shows.

The expert report, published in the latest edition of the Medical Journal of Australia, argues that the country's remote indigenous communities are the most vulnerable to changing environmental conditions.

Direct and indirect impacts

"Their vulnerability to climate change is intensified by the social and economic disadvantage they already experience the result of factors that include decades of inadequate housing and public services, and culturally inappropriate medical services," the journal said in an editorial.

"In addition, specific cultural ties between indigenous people's wellbeing and the 'health' of their 'country' create significant indirect impacts of climate change."

Donna Green, co-author of the research and a climate change scientist at the University of New South Wales, said rising temperatures could increase the incidence of diseases such as dengue fever and harm the health of elderly and chronically sick people living in remote areas.

"They will just have very low resources to be able to cope with change and to be able to get access to health [services]," she said.

But Aboriginal communities, already the most disadvantaged in the country, would also suffer from seeing the ancestral lands to which they have a spiritual connection harmed by the impact of climate change, she said.

Not impacting all Australian equally

"Many communities, if they are seeing their ecosystems change, plants and animals doing things at different times flowering at different times or particular totemic animals breeding or appearing at different times then that can cause a lot of social unease," Green said.

"Because people just don't feel like they are looking after their country properly; that they aren't managing their country for their ancestors."

Green said the researchers wanted to draw attention to the fact that climate change would not affect all Australians equally.

"We are aware that these problems are going to get bigger unless we do something about it now," she said.

Australia's original inhabitants were marginalised after the first British settlers arrived in 1788 and now number just 470,000 out of a population of 21 million.

They have much higher rates of infant mortality, health problems and suicide than other Australians, with many living in squalid camps where unemployment, alcoholism and lawlessness are rife.

Noted. Its about time. So they keep on saying. Stop thinking about 'New Coal' The money that has been put into it already, shame. Solar & wind are two safe earth gifts that are not being used enough. The poor Aboriginal people....'They have much higher rates of infant mortality, health problems and suicide than other Australians, with many living in squalid camps where unemployment, alcoholism and lawlessness are rife.' Most of the above was given to them by so called do gooders. White people. Thanks Cal.

The Aboriginal people of Australia have problems that are entirely unrelated to temperature.
It is pretty cynical for Warmist media to try to hitchhike on their real misery to push the scam.

Just like the rest of the globe, Australia has experienced record cold in the last two years.

What total unadulterated ROT and GARBAGE
Who is this expert?
Have they ever been to Australia?
Aborigines living a traditional lifestyle are probably better equipped than most to survive global Climate Change.

I am an Australian and almost cannot believe what I just read. The lies about global warming - the lies about the Aussie aborigines - and the lies about the affect of "global warming" on aborigines are a complete fabrication! Please people come to your senses - do some research and don't be so gullible. Can't you see that the so called "climate scientists" who carry on with all this alarmist BS are either politically motivated, profiting from pushing this propaganda, or just "dumbed down" and not able to think for themselves.
I am an Australian who really does care about the environment and all of humanity and it really doesn't take a great brain to check out the "evidence" on both sides of the argument (and I'm talking REAL evidence) not computer projections which are NOT evidence, and arrive at the conclusion that the planet is NOT being warmed by the burning of fossil fuels and furthermore (as Michael said above) Australian aborigines living a traditional lifestyle would definitely cope a lot better with any kind of NATURAL climate change as they have already historically experienced this and survived.

Its a sad but very real truth that its always the least on the social ladder who suffer most in any adverse situation. Hope things are not too tough for these poor people. I feel they have been exploited enough. Nature should not also get into the act.

Who the Hell put Up this Crap?
I at the Age Of 16 Onwards Worked With Aboriginals (Real Ones) On Cattle Stations & In The R.A.N.
Noongahs, Koori's etc Will Adapt Like We Do, More So As Aboriginals Know The Land & Repsect It Unlike White Man Who Rapes The Land.
Should Not Try To Be A Specialist Regarding Noongahs Or koori's & What The Hell Do Yanks Know.
Like I Said I Am Accepted By Them & Have LIVED With Them ... This Story Is CRAP.
