"We can berate politicians for not doing enough and for compromising too much and for not being bold in addressing this existential threat to civilization.

"But the reason that they don't is because the level of awareness and concern among populations still has not risen to cross the threshold that makes the political leaders feel they must address it."

Gore is correct, after the many years of government policies berating the idea of doing something to make substantial changes in policy that affect the ecological balances of the planet, many people are unconvinced that climate change is a threat. The primary source for information and education of the public on this and other issues of national/global importance was at one time the news media. As that is no longer a dependable or useless source of information, we must find another way of getting people truly educated and informed so that they will take action and make demands.

I agree Scarlett.
My husband and I work very hard, have 2 small kids, and own a home.we have been very lucky so far to hold onto our jobs.
We hardly ever spurlge and we have little conforts. But even still we barely scrap by.This new energy bill we kill us when it comes time to pay our bills. The price of food is ridculous. For a family of our on a tight budget two weeks of groceries is 200-250 dollars. And that's to try to provided healthy meals for my family.
There has got to be a better way this.
I am sorry to all Gore supporters. But for a man so intrenched in Global warming he does not pratice what he preaches AT ALL.
He flys around the world constantly, his home is not energy effeicent but he tells us to drive less and expects middle class to poor people to pay thousands for homes to be energy effeicent.
According to the CBO this bill will raise our energy bills TRIPLE what we are paying now. That si right TRIPLE the cost.Average Americans will lose everything if this thing is passed.

i am praying that it doesn't it.

One last thing more then half the science community agrue Gore's facts that the Earth is warming. In fact the Farmer's Atlas shows that we cooling. The Farmer's Atlas MUST maintain accurcy in order for farmers to provided food to the world, there fore it is strictly enforced NON-PARTISAN group.

Should we make changes to the wastefulness of our habits DO DOUBT.No one is aguring that. What we want is the truth and for the politicans and special interest groups to stay out of our lives.
