The Turks still refuse to come to terms with their history of genocide of the Armenian people. Successive Turkish governments were responsible for the state murder of over 2 million Armenians and 300 000 Greeks.

This statement by Erdogan must rank as one of the dumbest ever made by a polician. Who does he think he's kidding?

It's not genocide. It's a freedom fighting.

Maybe it is the word "genocide". So lets call it what it is, sadistic, blood-thirsty, murder!!! Lord knows, they sure know how to do that!

The Armenian Holocaust was preceded by the Balkan Wars during which the Muslim populations of Bulgaria, Romania and pre-Yugoslavia were brutalized by local Orthodox Catholics: female crucifixion, penned up infernos, etc. It is possible that Turkish low level commanders heard the reports and eventually took revenge on totally innocent Armenians. It is less confusing for those in a state of unbridled rage, and its accompanying drainage of blood from the mind, to slash out at simply identified victims: Muslims, Christians, Jews, etc.

The fact that this has been going on for so long means nothing. If enough people can see this for the pathetic indulgence that it is without getting sucked into the ambient non-sense, this can be stopped.

Sad Sad, We should also keep the Genocide of Palestine people in mind which is in million uptil now & the Genocide of Bosnian & the Genocide of Iraqis, Afghan, Kashmiris, list goes on, I love the people of USA but they should keep in mind that if we want to criticize some one we should always see the both side of the story. Bless you all.

Falak, good advice for yourself also. Denying the Holocaust of Jews, gays, Jehovah's Witnesses and others in World War II simply betrays your own prejudices. That's a textbook genocide based on persecution based on simply belonging to an outcast group. Seeing both sides of the story is very important to learning and expressing a humanist viewpoint on this brutal subject.

Falak. Where do you get a million dead Palestinians from? Has Hamas been killing Fatah followers again?
Bless you too.

Yep, and when Turkey made their genocide against the Kurdish people in recent decades, guess who armed them to the teeth? THE USA!!!

And in colonial, apartheid Israel's genocide against the Indigenous people of Palestine, guess who has been giving Israel U.S.$3-4 billion military aid each year? THE USA!!!

The USA kills millions of people each year both directly and indirectly, by waging wars and proxy wars, by supporting military coups, by supporting oppressive regimes (with billions of dollars in military aid and even more in arms sales), by economic plunder (by U.S. government-supported U.S.-based multinatinal corporations, and by exploitative trade and exploitative international loans), etc., plundering a net haul of hundreds of billions of dollars in wealth from the Third World each year, thus impoverishing and causing suffering to billions of people.

Israel, U.S.A.,
how many kids have you killed today???

Is it a coincidence that, as I write this, the 3 main Care2 world news topics are all about the few countries that are free of U.S. imperialist domination and U.S. exploitation?

They are constantly slandered by the U.S.A.'s capitalist media, and many U.S. citizens unthinkingly regurgitate the words of their capitalist masters. This is not alternative news. This is merely a repetition of what we get on the mainstream TV, radio and newspapers. Why do you plaster it all over our Care2 alternative media website, too??? What is the point of repeating it here??? We hear the imperialist propaganda from your capitalist ruling class constantly anyway!!!

Simon, this all may have merit, but why not contribute some alternative news of your own. We differ greatly on much of this, but I for one would read what you post, and others probably would too. I don't think that I've seen more than a dozen articles from you in my memory like the ones you say are missing here.

There is non so blind as those who will not see.Turkey should come to terms with their past as the people of Germany have.

Lets not forget the 50,000 Syrians killed in the city of Hamra by Hafez al-Assad.or the 20,000 Palestinias killed by King Hussein of Jordan or the thousands of Kurds killed by Saadam Hussein, Iran and Turkey. When it comes to killing Muslims the Muslims do a quite the job.
