Nazi idealogy is alive and well in many countries and, sadly, even here on Care 2.

What they did was disrespectful. Stealing signs is just illegal, but considering what this sign was for, it was also tasteless.

I've been to The Auschwitz Museum, most heartbreaking place ever, for the henious crimes, torture and mass slaughter that was commited here against innocent men, women and children, should never be forgotten. What these low lifes did was lower than gutter level and so disrespectful to the many who perished at the evil deeds of a monster. TY Cal.

Linda, I haven't made it to Auschwitz but I did to Yad Vashem and, some 35 years on, I can still see every corridor, the contents of every case and the room of numbers (those that died in the camps). I understand that there are gardens and other outdoor memorials but they were not there when I went.

I believe that everyone should visit one or the other to understand what over 10 million people went through, not just the Jews, but all the others too.

This happened because people stood back and let it happened or even joined in by being guards, they enjoyed their ability to abuse the helpless, rape the women and to put them through the gas chambers. Perhaps the Neo Nazis on the board would have enoyed it too.

Too many innocent people of many races and religions walked to their death under that sign beliving that "work would indeed set them free". No doubt there are some out there who do indeed wish to own that sign. Makes me not want to admitt to being human some days.
