Earlier this week, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer announced it would "voluntarily" stop selling a widely used arsenic-laced poultry feed additive, after FDA tests found traces of the poison in chicken meat.

This is only one of dozens of reasons not to buy factory farmed poultry! In before the inevitable Vegan rant!

Just goes to show that it's all about the Benjamins with agribusiness. Glad I haven't touched the stuff for over 17 years.

Ok, Terry, won't go into a Vegan rant - Why? It doesn't help. But here's the deal - factory farmy is disgusting, filthy conditions and horrifically barbaric. Big yucko!

Just a note to the vegans... Please note that this didn't originate as a "flesh" problem but rather as a poisonous substance added to the vegetable feed the chickens were eating. Unless you, like me, are growing your own vegetables or buying them from a trusted organic producer, you are being poisoned just like hose chickens.

This is disturbing as all get out. I used to like chicken but I think I'll stop now. No wonder I got sick the other day after eating some chicken! Yikes!!!

Well sure, factory farmed meat used for school lunch and fast food beef is rinsed with ammonia to kill e.coli (but it doesn't) and chickens are rinsed with chlorine to kill salmonella (but it doesn't)...and their all fed with antibiotics and hormones....so whynot add a little arsenic to seal the deal?!

Back before antibiotics, we treated STDs with 'Salvarsan', a sub-lethal arsenic regimen. Now we can eat low grade chicken and get the same treatment? We need to fix this...

NOted. Thanks Cal.
Don't the pinheads in the FDA know that the affects of arsenic are cumulative, and insidious.

Stop eating them. There is no reason to, and every reason not to.

We had a patient once who was ailing no matter what we did and he was getting worse.
Eventually we discovered the cause: his wife was putting her vaginal pessaries into his beer. They would froth and they did not have a taste of their own. That's how I know that arsenic is tasteless.
She was charged with attempted murder.
I guess Pfizer, on the other hand, will get away with it, especially now that they voluntarily opted to stop doing it.

Well, apparently the government isn't on Phizer's back! Just imagine what will occur when we completely deregulate all the corporations, back to the 1930s I guess.

How kind of the company to let people know what they've been selling. Sigh. I'm glad that I'm a vegetarian.
