With its handling of an ongoing spill in the North Sea, it would seem oil multinational Shell has not absorbed the lesson of BP's 2010 catastrophe. Small compared to last year's Gulf of Mexico spill, the Shell leak is nevertheless the worst for the North

LIKE all oil companies, they don't want you to know about these major spills that occur about ever week somewhere in the world. But, it is up to US to make things happen and bring awareness of what is going on. They make billions and use the money to bribe politicians to do their bidding. And thanks to the supreme court, they can now do this in secret. Welcome to the UNITED CORPORATIONS OF AMERICA.

It breaks my heart that some people care nothing of the world, and only care about green pieces of paper that should mean nothing.

...I'm hoping Shell (and BP and all BIG POLLUTION COMPANIES) will just disappear.....too many people only seem to care about the present, their bank accounts, their comforts.....too few (but not those doing the work of Mother Earth here on Care2 like all of you) realize that we are borrowing this planet from our children....lets hope we can leave them a liveable one....

Note to Shell: Whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do not use the same PR firm BP did.

These flying Dutchmen are being bad neighbours just like BP and ExxonMobil. Until they can clean up existing spills and shut down or repair existing rigs, they should NOT be allowed more deepwater drilling opportunities. Until oil companies demonstrate the ability to contain and fully clean up a spill in Arctic water environments, they should NOT be allowed to drill in Chukchi, Barents, or other Arctic Sea waters!

Just send in the beneficial bacteria to east up the oil...inexpensive and effective !

Oil companies don't give a damn about the damage they do to the air, land, water, wildlife and to people. The greedy bastards only care about profits.

Actually Shell said that since the oil was and will be dispersed by weather and waves it was of no consequence.

Ah the old shell game! Instead of playing hide the pea, they are trying to play hide the oil, which gosh durn it- keeps leaking and seeping out from under the shell.

It isn't go to disappear, but what is clear is how little Shell care about the environment and sea by their response. It's all profit and a complete disregard for anything else. Another company that needs people to boycott.
