Only four years? Gimme a break! If C2 animal activists had our way, we'd make sure this guy never saw the light of day again!

With the unbelievably high amount paid for poached ivory, this guy will probably still have money when he gets out, with such a short sentence, this is no real deterent. Shooting on site would work better, and is more befitting the crime.

I fail to see how four years in prison for doing this is a tough sentence! Yes, compared to what those worthless disgusting pieces of crap receives normally it is a big sentence but it still is a joke of a sentence!

This type of crime should be considered a Federal or National Offense with stiffer fines and mandatory jail time of at least 10 years. Killing of these beautiful creatures upsets the Earth's balance. It's not only about the disregard of animal life.

Although the sentence is only 4 years, it's a start. Hopefully he will serve them out. I am also pleased the smuggler was Chinese - it sends a message to them as well.

I suggest a mandatory death penalty much like the chinese use for drug dealers.
They catch you once and thats it-you're history and will never deal drugs again.
Poachers should know they will pay with their lives.

Four years are not nearly enough. I would give them the death penalty to make sure they'll never kill an animal. At least I would chop off their hands.
