One feels like shouting: "Stop the world, i want to get off!"
Trouble is, there really is no other suitable planet. What can we do?
Interesting that it is possible that President Obama may not have been informed about the protest going on outside the White-house
The pipeline must be stopped, otherwise the "Horn of Africa" scenario will be ours. It is just a matter of maybe 15 to 20 years.
Good on the activists!

They did a great job, they brought attention to this critical issue, the press coverage from it has made even more people aware that wouldn't be.
If you still haven't signed the Petition concering the Tar Sands, I have a list at the link below. They are all hot linked in blue in the second comment down.

I wish I could add to the arrest number. It's outrageous that we're having this pipeline shoved down our throats.

Obama clearly showed himself years ago to not care about the environment. His dealing with BP was the final nail in his campaign promise.

At least, two Puerto Rican's were also arrested - engineer Alexis and biologist Arturo Massol, father and son. They are known in Puerto Rico for their environmental compromise -the elder was awarded the Goldman Prize (2002) for developing "Casa Pueblo", an ecological and successful project. Both are oppossed -as thousands of us- to the construction of a gas pipeline through our Island's forests, rivers and populated communities, pushed by the current Government to benefit a Spanish private company. My respects to all anti-Keystone deathline.

Incidentally, I don't believe the environmental impact report, the impact on building the pipeline will be tremendous and the poisons/toxins involved will destroy a huge area.

Obama is a liar and a thief. He stole money from the people who supported him into the White House and lied about the changes he would make. If you go through Youtube you will find Obama saying that he was not born in Hawaii when the certificate was dated, it is a fake. Obama is clearly seen and heard saying that he was born in Kenya before the birth certificate date. He is also seen as a Muslim and on interviews on TV, when asked about his religion, clearly starts to say that he is a Muslim, sorry, Christian.

And anyone believes that he cares about the environment?

Obama is an opportunistic, two faced, political performance artist. He is only interested in another term of the power of the 'White House. He has caved in on all of his eliction promises and betrayed his base. He probably did not even know about the protests at the White House. Too busy canpaigning.

Obama has proven himself to be no more then a wolf in sheep's clothing.......a Republican masquerading as a Democrat. I am ashamed that I fought for him and voted for him.

I signed the three petition that Gillian listed. I feel that people have the right to stand for what we believe in. We need to put an end to just be stepped on by all of the political and corporate creeps. We are the people and must stand together! No questions asked!
Thanks Cal

Other leaders in the past although a limited number, have found ways to over come great barriers in front of them. Obama said he would find a way to effect change, well this is the worst example of cop out I've seen and cheers to the Protesters. We live with the doom of Harper's intentions of how to exploit our resources here in Canada.

Dang! They can arrest me by proxy too! Whatever, whoever will run for Pres.Democrat, it will be a hell of a lot better than any Republican. We have to vote AGAINST them if only to let them know we haven't all gone into our burrows.

Have we become a Communist state or what that we can't peacefully demonstrate against a disaster waiting to happen. We need half of our population protesting against this.

Isn't murder still a crime? Obama's failure to support smog controls that his own EPA sees as necessary will cause the deaths of 12,000 people, not to mention countless people suffering health conditions and illnesses of all sorts, including cancer.

The repubs have said that their only goal is to keep Obama to one term. HE IS DOING THAT FOR THEM! I would think that they would want to keep him in office. He caves in to them on ALL the Big issues like pollution, GMOs, not taxing the rich, etc.

It is only about money and power, so common sense goes "out of the door".
Don't expect that politics will change for the people ....... because governments are only there to police the population and to implement what the mighty and riches want.

People awake in America. Only when more people understand what is going on in the background, they can gather together for the REAL CHANGE !! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
