Right now, Cairn Energy is drilling for oil in Arctic waters. Yet Cairn's own spill response plan shows that an Arctic oil spill would be catastrophic and near impossible to clean up. Ask Greenland's Prime Minister, Kuupik Kleist, to protect the Arctic an

The Inuit people of Greenland have a long tradition of respect for their use of resources and animals. I am with them in protecting both. Blessings to them in their battle to protect their (and our environment).

Seeing the current development in the situation over the Arctic, I am very worried for the region: Oil drilling poses dire threats to it, thus should be discontinued and all new plans for it should be discarded. There should remain an unspoiled wilderness -- for the sake of environment, for the sake of animals endemic to there. But will it happen ultimately? That is very uncertain. That being said, I cling to the hope that the Arctic can still be saved, that it will be.

So you want the Greenlanders to continue living dependant on the kindness of strangers?
Exploiting those oil reserves is vital for the Greenlanders to be able to fulfill their ambition for independance.

What is it with you guys? You wont let them profit form their oil, you wont buy their seal furs - or even allow importing them - how are they suposed to live if they did as you ask?
