The folks that run the Olympics ought to know better than to accept $$ from such a controversial company.

Cheap good publicity for Dow. Look how good they are for supporting the Olympics!! They should clean up their acts and become morally responsible instead of financially richer!

I'm sorry, but you are holding the wrong people responsible. What you are saying is that by buying out another company, Dow becomes responsible for the sins committed by that company. So, given that logic, if I were to buy the store on the corner, I should be responsible for all the actions taken by it's previous owners? Wrong. The sins of the father should not be visited upon the son. Dow Chemical is very environmentally conscious and has worked to clean up every bit of pollution for which they were responsible in Michigan. While Dow Chemical has it's home base in my hometown, I do not nor have I ever worked for Dow. I am, however, VERY concerned with and knowledgeable about their actions. This problem was caused by Union Carbide, not by Dow. The former owners are the ones who should clean up their own mess.

Agent Orange 2 4 D what greater qualifications could you ask for. Poisoning burning people alive hey what the who's going to remember any of that now. We've changed our image a little Teflon flakes in your pancakes that wont hurt you will it. What memories an Olyipian could have the little accident in India they are still complaining about. Didn't we pay them off another bribe or two to government officials alli in good sport eh.

The olympics logo says the word Zion very very clearly. If they didnt change that although it endangers the presence of all Muslim countries/athletes, then do you think they'd care if some tree huggers have a problem with Dow Chemicals?
I'm not optimistic at all, but lets give it a shot.
Signed. Thanks, dear. *cyber hug*

UNTIL THEY FULLY COMPENSATE ALL THE BHOPAL VICTIMS AND CREATE AN INEXHAUSTABLE TRUST-FUND FOR THEM, I would second this motion. I do acknowledge that they DOW-CORNING may have and might still be benefiting many people in many places in the WORLD, but HAVING TAKEN OVER UNION-CARBIDE and its LIABILITIES, IT SHOULD DO THE MORALLY, ETHICALLY RIGHT THING BY THE PEOPLE OF BHOPAL starting with DECONTAMINATING THE ENVIRONMENT ON WHICH MANY INDIAN PEASANTS DEPEND FOR THEIR DAY-to-DAY SURVIVAL !!

Old and wrinkly as an elephants behind, I share with that animal a memory of the Vietnam War. Dow has a shady history, and when I see that logo, back it goes on the grocery shelf. Maybe we should forgive our neighor his/hers trespasses, but a corporation (poof-it's a person now) NEVER! Repeat offender!

It's all about money. I decided to boycott the Olympics since China was awarded for their animal and human abuse with the hosting of the games. It's all about money. Not even an ounce of integrity in choosing their partners.

The Olympics have no moral integrity. The outrageous amount of money spent on continuously spiralling costs for this latest carnival is a disgrace. Anyone else spending public money in this profligate manner would have to be accountable. They hold out the begging bowl when costs go up and it is refilled again and again - no problem. To have held it in China last year beggars belief - that was a golden opportunity to show that country's Government what the world thinks of its human and animal rights. I am no longer interested as the spectacle has long overtaken the athletic performance, and I used to be an avid fan.
