Southern is up for sale

If it is for sale, lets hope that whoever buys it will invest in clean, green energy with plenty of safer jobs for the workers That's what I would do, rather than try and make the most profit that I could out of the last bits of oil and coal. Thermosolar powerstations are the way to go. Windmills are nice too. A few solar panels here and there. Lot's of opportunities for them to make profits.

There's many 'new' avenues to explore to make sufficient profit without contributing any further to the destruction of the planet, so let's "hold our thumbs crossed" for prospective new owners!

"According to its records Southern Company spent over $8 million in lobbying the U.S. government last year."

Its way past time to kick the coal habit and move to renewable sources of energy.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Cal. Let's miss no opportunity to jump all over them.

Surprised? A power company serving nearly four and a half million customers?

Lie in, lie out. Perhaps all of the hot air being used to lie to the American people could be applied to energy generation. They might be able to give up coal.

That 8 million bought them the right to poison our environment Pam. Neither the government nor big business seems to care that they still have to breath the same air we do--haven't they noticed the ever-increasing stench?

Once again, we must replace coal fired plants and start green energy production as soon as we can. it may already be too late.

$8 million in lobbying fees mostly to Republican/Teabaggers; wants electricity deregulation; greenhouse gas emmissions equal to that of all Finland and it only serves 4 million people;building another plant in Mississippi rather than researching green renewable options;

Well isn't this just a fine mess!
