Nothing will come of this by us staying one more year. The mentality of these people are so ingrained, there is little to no hope for anything positive to come from us staying.

Once again...the President is keeping his promises with a gradual and well-planned mission completion. Let's hear what the Obstructionists will complain about.

We always knew that we were not going to stay in Afghanistan as we would be unable to beat the Taliban. Russia failed so why would we succeed. All that happens is that the Taliban will take back everything and it will go back to a series of tribes fighting each other and depressing women.

We need out of there ASAP, it does no good to stay, nothing will change and as soon as we leave the Taliban will move right in. Our service people should be home and I wish it was sooner than next year.

Afghanistan was a mess when the troops went in. It's mess now. And, while I certainly understand the wish to bring troops home, I truly fear for the mess that will follow their departure.

I fear for the people of Afghanistan and echo Yvette's concerns for the women and children. I know they're having a taste of other possibilities right now and will long for those possibilities to continue, but how will they fare against the Inevitable return of the Taliban? I hope I'm wrong, but I find the situation very concerning.

These troops should have left Afghanistan the same time the troops left Iraq. This war has gone on TOO LONG. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!
