Women have the right to be protected regardless of their cultural heritage. Although the US government is clearly aware of the high risk of assault for indigenous women, they have failed to take adequate measures to protect them

Noted and signed. Woman are second class citizens in most of the world, and that includes here in the US. We want to regulate what they can do with their own bodies, make deciisions for them, and not even give them equal pay for equal work.

The timing of this petition is imperative
Too often the gentler sex has been subjected to male bongage
with no recourse, till their demise.
Thank you Raedene and Cal for making this available to us

Noted & signed, thanks Cal and Raedene. Wrote my own comment by expanding to: Rape is wrong. All those raped, regardless of ethnic, gender, sex or age, should be protected with justice and education for self protection.

Everyone is at risk of rape, physical and mental. Learn to protect yourself, be strong. There are many human predators.

Thank you and signed. Although I doubt that the US Government can do much. Much of the rape and abuse of indigenous women occurs on sovereign soil, tribal lands/reservations, muchmost of which is under the jurisdiction of Tribal Law Enforcement and Tribal Councils. The problem is perhaps more from the misogynistic culture of the indigenous peoples and the way their laws, law enforcement and judical system treat/view women than from any policies and actions of the BIA.
