A year-long undercover investigation has found evidence of Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) companies cutting and pulping legally protected ramin trees, a practice that violates both Indonesian and international law.

Unfortunately....it's NOT "unbelievable." It's entirely too common!

What a slap in the face. Those of us who read these publications are unwittingly contributing to these endangered trees destruction. Corruption is everywhere and in all areas of the timber industry. On every continent you will find unethical practices such as the harvesting of illegal timber, the destruction of nests of endangered species, etc. Not enough people care about the future, only the here and now and that cursed dollar in their pocket. Why do we even need to make paper products out of trees? There are so many alternative crops that are equally useful. Oh yeah, we need those crops to feed the poor animals that we eat. Everything in this world is a chain reaction of events. For every action there is a reaction. The consequences of our way of life is that we are destroying the world and ourselves along with it.

This company needs to quarantined. We should ban all products that have their origins with APP. There is no reason why their products should be sold in the US at the very least.

We only use Cascades toilette paper it's made mostly of recycled fibers and has been for the past 30+ years one of the most environment friendly. Wish I could do more, fining APP, and freezing all possessions owned by the Indonesian leader to be used for Indonesian people to care and preserve the environment and wildlife....

Until all world leaders get serious about environmental protection, these violations will continue.
