I know this area well. Granted, the Tanzanians need roads (it's a crushingly poor country.) But, I believe that THIS one is really an attempt by the government to hold the Serengeti "hostage" and extort money from other nations to "assist" in their "environmentalism."

We'll see how it goes.

Any disruption of the migration would be absolutely devastating to the Serengeti AND the Masai Mara--because they're all one system and every living thing there depends on that migration in a huge web of connection.

We can only hope that political payoffs do not win this critical case.
The Serengeti/Maasai Mara must remain entact at all costs.
