Repeal the Hungarian law that makes being homelessness a criminal offense. The National Assembly of Hungary recently passed a law making sleeping in public spaces punishable by fines or imprisonment. The law effectively criminalizes being homeless.

Its sad that a developed country like hungary treats its citizens like this.there should be a shelter for the homeless food and water and basic amenities, medication should be provided.the treatment of these people is a Shame on the authorities.and I might add that it also shows how concerned other people are of these homeless people.can't people chip in some money and get these people a room to stay in for some time?you'll be surprised at what team effort can do.remember, you could be homeless too.sorry if I may sound harsh.

Signed and Noted. Ridiculous law. How can you legislate something like this? Sue the employer who fired someone, or whose unsafe practices killed the bread winner in the family. Stupidity must be catching...

Your signature has been recorded. Seems a lot of these Countries, includes my own, get their policies out of the same book. Create manmade poverty then punish the poor because the Countries policies worked.

It is the most stupid law I have ever heard about. People are homeless for all kinds of reasons but they certainly don't have any money or they wouldn't be sleeping rough, so why even think of FINING them? How dumb can a government be? If homeless people are sent to prison, it might even be better than sleeping rough, at least they will have a roof over their heads. Who comes up with laws like this? It cannot be someone very bright.

A lot of people say that all homeless people are drug users or alcoholics, what about the children that are homeless are they drug users or alcoholics too??

That is a load of crap, if you see someone in need do the right thing and help in a little way, you will feel better about yourself, I do it all the time, because you want God's approval, I mean that is what I am looking for, and this goes for animals too!!

Signed-So instead of solving the problem by building more shelters or jail space, they prefer to fine people that are homeless.

This is the height of stupidity! Instead of doing something positive like FDR did, and create employment, create housing, they prefer to punish people who are already being punished for circumstances not of their making--are the repugs running Hungary?

"face fines of up to $600 or go to jail." Jeez, the whole reason they're homeless is because they don't have any money, but yet, they're going to be fined. It just doesn't make any sense, unless, of course, if they can't pay the fine, they'll go straight to jail and stay there, with no recourse of getting out of their predicament! This is a senseless and cruel law!

"When you do these things to the least of them, you do them unto me," said Jesus. These people, by enacting such laws, are smacking Christ in the face, and showing they care nothing for the suffering of the less fortunate of their own people. We Hungarians are a proud people and have lived through Hitler and Communism. It's hard to believe that stuff like this is till going on. Pray for you Hungarian brothers and sisters and continue to support them in anyway you can. Signed and noted.
