"This weekend, as part of a story on ALEC's political activity, the New York Times noted that the group recently adopted "model legislation" on fracking chemical disclosure, based on a bill passed in Texas last year. According to the Times, the model bill was "sponsored within ALEC" by ExxonMobil, which runs a major oil and gas operation through its subsidiary, XTO Energy. The advocacy group Common Cause, which provided the documents on ALEC's lobbying efforts to the Times, describes model legislation, in many cases identifying by name the company that proposed it to ALEC's task forces."

"MODEL LEGISLATION", in case you didn't know, is how ALEC operates.
That is, ALEC drafts a Bill that contains what THEY want -- then they INTRODUCE that Bill into the various 50 State Legislatures {or just the State Legislatures they have targeted for that particular Bill}. They introduce the Bill thru one of their Congresscritters.
Interesting -- those Congresscritters are WORKING FOR ALEC, and NOT working for the People of that State!!! {The Bill introduced by ALEC, is ALWAYS AGAINST the interests of the People of that State. Otherwise, there'd be no need for ALEC to bother!}
In this way, the SAME Legislation is introduced {and passed!} in SEVERAL States.
And, the subservient Congresscritters {Tea-Partiers, mostly!}, can just RUBBERSTAMP the Legislation ALEC wants, they don't have to write it or debate it or even read it -- or do the least bit of thinking and deciding for themselves about it!
THIS IS WHAT ALEC IS ALL ABOUT.

Thanks, Cal. Everyone needs to know that ALEC has their hand in nearly, if not all, state legislatures. They are systematically trying to destroy the 99%. Cheney's Halliburton seems to be profiting most from the fracking, while people can't even use their own water in their homes anymore. ALEC is evil.

Koch Brothers and their minnions at ALEC are the 2012 version of Hitler!!..period...just against everyone, that is not in the 2% income brackett, all over the World, as owning the World is their goal..and Murdoch is their best friend....
Fracking , everywhere where it is happening, is destroying and using all the clean water that is left...leaving all life on the peril, including you and I...the Koch Brothers, even though they will be dead from old age, don't care..they just want those that can pay for water , to do so and all else are .."dead"...Koch Brothers grandfather started the John Birch Society, --right next to the KKK and 2012 Neo-Nazis!!!!
