We've been doing the same thing in the Fremont Solstice parade in June for over a decade. Totally cheeky!

A comment from the article, "'I guess a lot of the public wouldn’t necessarily know why we were doing it but it certainly gets people's attention.'

If people don't know why they're doing it, what good does it do to get their attention? You want supporters, not oglers...

Don't get me wrong. I commend their intentions. I just don't understand their methods.

"The two biggest issues for the naked protesters are our continued dependence on oil dependency

and the lack of safe roads and pathways for cyclists, helping us to reduce our dependency on oil.

The naked part of the protest symbolises the vulnerability of cyclists as road users."

There is something vulnerable about the naked body.... I think this is definitely an effective method of protest.

{Also, as stated in the article, it draws attention to Nudists, as in Nudist camps -- Brits call them Naturists -- and to what the article calls "social nudity". And that, in turn, to ME, signifies that we don't always necessarily NEED the clothes we wear -- and that, in turn, means LESS CONSUMERISM for the sake of "fashion" and competition and so on.}
