In medicated America, the fix for every problem is just a prescription away. Except that it's not.

Thanks Cal. Just had a "taste" of what is described in the article and it is not delicious, delectable, healthy or good for a persons financials or personal welfare. "Empty calories/prescribed drug". Ask your doctor? Defy a god by questioning their opinion on the prescription they decided on without your permission or discussion?

A great article, but how sad it seems so few have read it. You take one drug for this ailment and then have side effects. So another drug is prescribed for the side effects and that too has side effects. It never stops. It never started for me because I don't take any prescription drugs. I believe in what Hippocrates said so long, long ago: Let food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food. What a wise doctor. Why don't we have more like him?i

We really are an overdrugged society. People seem to think they're supposed to be on something. You're the oddball if you're not carrying a pillbox around. Pharmaceutical reps are drug dealers selling drs on their wonders and getting everyone hooked. It doesn't help that people think they need a pill for things that they don't even need a pill for~ like most people on antidepressants and anti-anxiety. No, the scam isn't right for you, but so many have fallen for it and they don't even realize it. People need to detox and drug company bribes need to stop.

Is there any real difference between a drug dealer and a pill pushing doctor? Only difference I see is that a doctor has a license and can't go to jail.

Much of this is true... but for some, like myself, the drugs I take keep me alive and functioning normally. Seek balance in this argument. Some drugs are good even if those who make them are not.
