A bunch of out-of-state "agents" are scouring land records looking for property owners in 3 southern Illinois counties that promise "good pickings" for frackers!:( The fact they are from out-of-state is the OMLY reason it made the news - goodness knows how many In State frackers have already bought up leases!

Folks in other states, be very careful of these slick talking "landsmen" who seek leases. Here in NY many people have been lied to only to find that they signed horribly binding leases for only a few dollars. Greed is rampant in this industry and it spills over to good folks who succumb to the get rich quick dream. In the meantime HVHF is on the brink of destroying the environemnt and severely depleting out potable water table.

bla bla bla etc... "enough to supply the nation's gas-burning electrical plants for 11 years." (see the 4th paragraph of the article)

Wait a second.... are they willing to destroy the environment for 11 lousy years of electricity?

Just forget this fracking thing folks, and let's start looking for other forms of energy, and for ways to use less electricity.

Gas companies should be thanking their lucky stars that they've managed to get permission to destroy as much of our landscape, drinking water and environment as they already have. They just can't get enough, and that will be their downfall. The more they frack, the more problems people will be experiencing, and the more opposition they'll receive. Their greed will be their undoing. Personally, I can't wait until that happens.
