The majority of Americans (58 percent) think that protecting the environment improves economic growth and creates new jobs. The results are from a recently released poll by Yale University and George Mason University's climate change communication program

Well, I would rather see them agree that protecting the environment will save the planet and our lives.

To the title one can only say... well duh! I'll take whatever support for sustainable environment that comes along, it's obvious that building a new infrastructure will grow jobs, but will the republicans support it? That I doubt.

I count myself in that majority. Going green and maximizing renewable energy resources benefits everybody. I also agree with Kit B., and highly doubt the Republicans will support it. How can they? They live in a perpetual state of climate change denial, where science has no value and where going green won't be profitable enough to justify the efforts being made. I think they know going green would also put a damper on whatever profits they're making hand over fist from the environmental polluters and destroyers they're cozying up to and cuddling with. Thanks Cal.
