I read it in Mongabay Indonesia some hours ago. It's said that India still doesn't want to buy from sustainable palm oil companies, but buy from other companies which use forest land to do the palm oil plantation.

When I saw the horrible devastation in Borneo, I came home determined to boycott palm oil.

YOU CAN'T...it's in everything--cleaning products, make-up, food, etc.

Indonesians are sacrificing thousands of species for temporary profits and it's beyond despicable!

We humans must restrain our numbers and demands on nature. And we need changes to our economic system so that it is not based on growth. I like the ideas of CASSE at http://steadystate.org , and I encourage everyone to consider signing the position statement at that site.

Boycotted any products with palm oil because:
- eaves of the blood of all those animals that have lost their habitat and life
- poisoned air port because it has destroyed millions of square acres of forest
- offends the word civilization, because it took away the home to countless native tribes
and even more an infinite list
But the man is more unconscious or stupid?
thank you Cal

Horrible!!! This has to have top priority among the leaders in the world, otherwise the rainforests in the world will be gone and disaster will be a fact! Thanks Cal for posting and Michela for forwarding!

I read my labels, but, in places like India, the poor must purchase whatever is cheap and available.
GMO is called "NATURAL" here on packaging. GMO means pesticide/fungicide/herbicide - infused seeds and plants that kill bees and soil, etc. I DO NOT PURCHASE "ALL NATURAL". Our money decides these issues. I l do not buy anything containing palm oil or any thing that comes from a sentient being.

Noted. We must get respected nutritionists to tell people that palm oil is a saturated fat and is NOT GOOD FOR YOU! May help to get the tide turning against the ridiculous surge in demand for palm oil.
