Pet dogs not only provide love and companionship, but also may help prevent the development of asthma in childhood years

Nowadays people are killing themselves by being a little to clean and "sanitary" and trying to make their lives do bacteria free they forget to realize we need some "good" bacteria to counter the effect of the bad..but by going overboard on this they are risking illness from things that would not otherwise have effected them...
something that those of us that have dogs now have another reason to give them an extra good night kiss :-)

dogs do wonders, but we don't see that, they're the medicinal doctor but without prescriptions, just enjoy your dog, don't have one but had in the past many, i love them.

This is my profession and the article is highly correct. The only point that needs to be reinforced is that in order to decrease the incidence of asthma the pets need to be introduced to children when the child is an infant.
People assume that pets are a common trigger for asthma and allergies this is incorrect the incidence of animals as a potential trigger is small. Certain plants, certain grass seeds, pollens and fragrances, weather climatic variations, food allergies ie peanuts, seafood etc are much more common.
Dogs and all animals are magnificent
