The open ocean aquaculture industry may have just made a new friend - the soy industry. A collaboration between these two industries could be devastating to ocean life and consumer health.

We humans need to take the vow to never purchase anything that is not organic now. Soy and GMO, Monsanto, Gargill, farmed fish, factory farmed animals... cattle grazing...and more are deforesting the entire planet and poisoning everything. When will we go organic veg'n and save this planet? When will we stop stealing life from this land, these waters, the air?

Yvette I would love to buy only organic but here in UK it is up to three times the price so you have to decide which products you can afford also a lot of cheating goes on.

This might have been a possibility for 'supplementary' feeding source for farmed fish, but with Monsanto sticking their grubby GM paws in it, we might as well toss the whole project down the river and try something more reasonable.

This just makes sense. Feed GMO Salmon GMO soy. With labeling you don't have to eat it.

No, I am not surprised to see the name MONSANTO appearing in this article. This alone makes it dodgy, no principles, just profits and let someone else clean up the environmental destruction.
We don't even have a choice, labels on food products are so misleading so we can't tell.
A sick world ruled by greedy profiteers who think everybody else is stupid. Just think, they cannot take the $$ with them to where they are going, hell.
