To help direct more food their way, without requiring destruction of wilderness for increased agriculture, we can eat less meat and other foods that require a lot of land and other resources.

almost 25-50% food is going waste. if we save this amount then it is sufficient to feed all .

Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. That's one child every five seconds.

It breaks my heart to think that there are children starving to death when we have so much food that is wasted on a daily basis. There has to be a safe way to have restaurants and grocery stores come up with a plan where the excess food can be taken to shelters to help the hungry, to help people and animals.

This should never be a problem, people who have too much should give it to those who have none, we could fix this if everyone got together and helped.

Thanks Cal - Spending mega-trillions of dollars on pointess wars, unnecessarily overly expensive election campaigns, massive bonuses for banksters, space exploration etc, etc doesn't appear to be a problem but feeding starving kids is?

We live in an age of extremely warped priorities. Stop the world, I want to get off!

The priorities aren't as warped as it may appear, after all, the nuclear war was predicted to occur this year, so saving the world is as important, if not more important than infiltrating every third-world country with first-world materialism. End poverty, nuclear threats, homicide, violent crime, slavery, racism, classism, gender-bias, etc.; not the World, please.

The nuclear war was predicted to occur this year? - One thing IS predictable this year. Millions of kids will die of starvation because too many people have evolved into selfish, greedy people, totally devoid of any semblance of empathy. and couldn't give a damn how many kids die... Priorities? Buy a third car, or post a sack of grain?

Thanks Cal.......this is so sad. This should not be happening in this day and age. There is so much food thrown away everyday, that could and should be given to the people that are hunger. There is NO reason for this to be going on in today's world. Something CAN be done to stop this from happening!!!!
