Fare is a brave man. One can only hope others involved in diplomacy will follow.

What is now a trickle must become a flood. At one time I had hope that Assad would be a reasonable leader, educated in the West, when he succeeded his father, I hoped that he would modernize his nation and help it become a part of the world community, unfortunately, the genetic disposition of his father has asserted itself and he is no better than any other despot that region, or the world, has seen. And he will suffer the same fate all despots ultimately do, he will be brought down from within by the people he oppresses. So it has always been, so it will always be. And none of them learn a thing from the study of history.
