loss of Arctic means ocean flooding--isn't it time more countries start addressing the climate changes and impacts that have begun and will get worse?

"In the last 30 years, the world has lost as much as three-fourths of the floating ice cap in the Arctic, according to Greenpeace. And ice in the Arctic will keep melting, due to our use of fossil fuel energy and industrial fishing. This not only threatens the natural environment, but the lives of animals such as polar bears and walruses. But you can help prevent these dire circumstances, by signing Greenpeace's petition to declare the Arctic a global sanctuary."

Signed and noted. It should also be noted that the open seas in the Arctic are hastening the pace of global warming, trapping more heat in our atmosphere rather than reflecting it back into space and protecting our fragile ecosystem as it has always done, that heat and added moisture in the atmosphere fuel more and stronger storms than ever before. We are trapped in a cycle that will ultimately bring about fiercer climate change than most can imagine, likely shutting down the ocean vectoring system and ushering in an ice age as bad or worse than the last big one 640,000 years ago. Snowball earth that was, little but creatures of the sea survived that, it will be no different this time, our species has doomed itself with its shortsighted focus on profit at the expense of its humanity. The unfortunate part is that those who are doing this to our beautiful blue home won't be here to see the full wrath of its destruction since that is several generations away. One can only hope that when the Earth has healed itself and removed the scourge of our presence that the next sentient species to arise will have enough of our folly in evidence to avoid our mistakes.

How will we all feel, when it's gone?
Will we feel sorry for ourselves?
It won't matter, because you can never bring it back.

I have tried several times over the past week to sign this petition. Each time I complete filling in the fields, an error message comes up "Sorry, this email already taken". I replied to one of the Greenpeace emails letting them know that this was happening, but, so far, no response.

This will be heartbreaking for all when it is gone, just because a greedy few ruined it for everyone including the animals!
