Thanks Cal for posting the Yahoo News article. Kudos to all the demonstrators. There are more greener solutions for generating electrical power. Read and noted.

"This is really a very hot summer, but although none of the nuclear power plants of Tokyo Electric Power Co. are operating, we're not short of electricity in Tokyo," The Japan Times quoted Keiko Ochai, an author who is among the organizers of the rally, as saying.

"We have to push for the halting of the Oi nuclear power plant, and need to keep the government from restarting other nuclear power plants," she said, referring to the nuclear power plant in Fukui Prefecture at which two reactors have been reactivated following safety checkups mandated in the wake of the Fukushima disaster.

Japan is NOT short of electricity and the majority of energy does NOT come from the nuclear Plants...so why is gov restarting? After all the toxic chemicals dumped into the Pacific that will haunt us for years to come and we will begin to experience the effects of these chemicals in our foods and water and health conditions across the ocean and on the coast of WA, OR, CA and Canada. So why are they restarting? Doesn’t make sense does it?

You might want to view the movie THRIVE on the net who supplies some thoughts and facts on the subject matter. What we need to do is one step closer than protesting (which is being ignored) but to TAKE BACK OUR GOD GIVEN BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS BACK and STOP GOV involvement in our Life and really become FREE not dependent on anything the government offers us because it is done so with the EGO and GREED of men. Let them know we are not going to accept their decisions on what "they" think is best for "us" (aka them=money).
What happens in other countries affects us here in the states and we should be protesting our own nuclear plants right here in the states and use Japan's experience and Russia's as a wake-up call to "positive" CHANGE in 2012 and shut down all nuclear plant and use alternative power: wind, water and solar.

kudos to all these people making their concerns known to a government that is too silent and slow in addressing such concerns
