When is it all going to be too much? When will we cross the line? How far are we going?

Think about the air quality as a country...We know China has the largest percentage of lung cancer in the world (they are also the largest smokers in the world).
With the lack of proper medical service, not only are these people going to die, but the environment will never come back.

I agree with Alan M. All animals have a part to play in this eco-system. Man doesn't seem to have a role. Tigers must stay and the coal must go.

""India is losing natural forests at a rate of between 1.5 to 2.7% a year—alarming when you consider that the country has already lost 70% of its native forest cover," says Fernandes."

Hmmm. Tigers versus money, who will win this battle? Brought to you by all those of the world who put money before people, they will, naturally, put money before mere animals. Short sighted, wrong headed, amoral and contributing mightily to global warming. Destroying these forests is part of what is SO very wrong with the world now, not just India, but all over. Yes, there are issues, but those are human created and the solution most certainly is not to destroy every species on the planet because homo sapiens will go down with the rest. The solution is not to deforest the entire planet, unless we can evolve quickly into co2 breathers and we can't. Green solutions are available but they take intelligence to recognize and understand the importance of them and despite our technology homo sapiens is rapidly proving that big brains do not equate to intelligence at all. Will we all have to die before a species arises with the intelligence and insight to recognize the fragility of the ecosystem that sustains life here? We make me sick sometimes. This is one of those times.

This is far more tragic than it sounds. It's enough to bring tears because who, pray tell, is fighting for the big cats? Why does evil always win? Because good men do nothing. Nothing as magnificent as a tiger should EVER be allowed to dwindle down to extinction. If man were truly good stewards of the earth, he would protect all species, but he is a blight to the earth and wouldn't raise a finger for them except where profit was involved.

In the end - all there will be is greed and money - and neither will keep us alive. The decimation of natural habitat for flora and fauna is happening at an alarming rate - and signifies the beginning of the end - or is it the end of the beginning? Sad but true.

I am very glad solar is becoming more efficient and available, as we can replace that old dirty coal with green sun power. Coal workers can be retrained in solar jobs. GERMANY is moving us in the right direction:).

There are a number of different groups and entities offering low cost signup for Solar Rentals for one's property. Sierra Club is one, but there are more jumping on the bandwagon. That's a good thing to get us all of the coal grid.

The tigers have to be saved. At least there are alternatives to coal, such as solar and wind energy. There are no alternatives where the tigers are concerned.

The National Song of India sung to the tune of "Let's Twist Again":
Come on people let's breed again
Like we did last summer
C'mon let's breed again like we did last year.
Title of the song is "No room for tigers (or elephants or deer or rhinos or anything except people)"
