The area is the only sacred site currently on private land outside Sioux control. The tribes believe the Sioux people were created from the Black Hills, and part of their spiritual tradition says Pe' Sla is where the Morning Star fell to earth, killing se

Every people who live in America should be ask why we are doing this and for what. The land is no one it the people earth, you cant sell things that no one own. Americas need to look at there self and ways, ask there self what is America. The American Holocaust of Native American Indians, stating wars to start war for profit and all the people kill by us for oil and other things.

Thank you Cal for placing this on C2. Very important. For further information you can go to:
Sioux Spiritual Leader Speaks Out on Land Sale of in Sacred Black Hills

"We are going to find out real soon if we are able to raise enough money to buy back our own land," he said. The irony of buying land that was stolen from you is not lost on Iron Eyes: "The United States holds illegitimate and illegal title to our land. They are trying to absorb not only the Lakota people, but everybody, into the corporate West."

Iron Eyes views the protection of sacred sites as the final frontier where indigenous ways cannot waiver.

We have taken so much from these peoples. We have taken their Liberty, their Land, their Languages and Culture, their Lives and their Future. What have we given them in return? Heartache, Pain and More Suffering. We, the Forked Tongued White Devil, have Broken EVERY Treaty made with the Native American Tribes. We promised to give back, we took more. There was a Federal Law requiring the Gov't to return land to the Native Americans when the Gov't didn't want or use the land anymore. That was the fight for Alcatraz where they got screwed again. To not allow The Sioux Nation to return to Pe Sla , the place that is most sacred, the Birthplace of the Great Sioux Nation, would be the greatest tragedy to befall these Magnificent Peoples.

I just cant believe that the obama camp are going to let this happen. the Indian nations have always had the unresvered right to their own lands something that was put on the back foot when the white man needed to head west. do the U.S.A. not realise this is your history you are destroying. why come to europe to marvel at buckinham palace & the history of my own country Ireland look closer to home to your own indigenous people. we in Ireland were supported by the Apache nation in the time of our famine something that most 3rd generation Irish were probably never told of. i now call on every Irish American descendant to get behind this worthy cause .

Thank you for bringing that up John. My full blood American Indian Grandmother and my 100% Irish Grandfather had a lot in common.

Pe Sla has been taken off the auction block. However, the property is publicly listed. The Tribes of the Great Sioux Nation are moving forward on their own behalf with Lastrealindians, Inc. in continuing to raise money to ensure Pe’ Sla will be protected as a sacred site, forever.
Updates will continue as more information becomes available.

Thank you all so much! Pilamaye for all your hope, your prayers, your contributions, and your "shares! Today the story of Pe’ Sla was in the Croatian news! We received hope and well wishes on a banner from children in France in the Lakota language! This has been a rollercoaster ride, and we are riding with our hands up and our hearts open! We keep working and praying for the best outcome, the opportunity to save Pe’ Sla from development and the freedom to pray in the place the Oceti Sakowin and many tribal Nations have considered sacred. We thank you for all your help and continued efforts especially in this time when we are uncertain of what will happen next. It is exciting and at the same time nerve wracking! Our team and the Oceti Sakowin continue to collaborate! Keep it going, keep it in the news, and keep sharing! We are working for our wakanyeja, our children, as they are the future!
