Good for them! ANY ONE OF US can act to introduce this kind of legislation in our own city! YOU CAN START THIS MOVEMENT YOURSELF! Talk to the City council or the mayor or write the editor of the local newspaper....get moving!

Wonderful to read that news. Well done, Toronto.
Our family has a whole collection of baskets and cloth bags (the kind that fold up small and can clip on a belt or handbag), but too many shops still provide plastic rather than paper bags to serve and weigh fruit and vegetables. They forget plastic bags are still plastic even if they're not at the checkout.
