Michael Clarke Duncan was a gas company ditch digger in Chicago who followed his dream of acting to Hollywood. The massively built actor played a gentle death row inmate in the 1999 prison drama.

Heart attack at 54, he did seem to be very much like the character in Green Mile when he was interviewed. His smiling face will be missed.

Very sorry to hear about his death. The article indicates that he was raised by a single mother, and I hope she takes comfort in the fact that she raised a such a kind, sensitive and talented son!

Of course his big claim to fame was "The Green Mile", but as a comic book geek, I'll always remember him for his role as the "Kingpin" in the "Daredevil" movie, and as the voice of "Kilowog" in last year's "Green Lantern".

54 is far too young to lose such a great talent. Rest in peace, Michael... :-(
