Egypt is a country that has and will have problems.It's population has exploded and is continuing to do so. (Muslims are as much against contraception as right wing Christians and Orthodox Jews).
The arable land of Egypt is being invaded by salt water due to global warming and rising ocean levels. They will appreciate a bit of help from the USA, which is one of the biggest polluters per capita.

Yes, Paula I agree. Sadly, it appears we can never have again the friendship we once had with Egypt. At least there is still an open dialogue. Also, the fact we give Egypt a fortune doesn't hurt.

Now with aid flowing again to Egypt, U.S. military equipment (100 Abrams tanks for starters), and a huge debt forgiveness from U.S., taxpayers for the government who vowed that it would go to war with Israel and said that Islam is the answer, Egypt can finally re-claim its lead position in the Arab world and realize its oft-said promise to invade Israel and start a war.

That should make Egypt very, very popular in the Arab world, and of course it is in our best interest to have a very popular, aggressive, Egypt.
