The regional natural treasures surrounding Canyonlands National Park are being threatened by a profound lack of protection. Off-road vehicle use, for example, has proven entirely unmanageable, resulting in soil erosion, crushed vegetation, and fragmented

How can they fail to take care of this..It can never be replaced once it has been allowed to fall apart..How sad that there is such little regard for the beauty of simple but profound nature..

"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away..once in awhile..and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods..Wash your spirit clean."
John Muir~

Perhaps those that don't see the importance of protecting these wondrous places..have never had their spirits washed clean..

Why can't 'off road vehicle activity' be restrained to the minimally damaging activities of equestrianism, foot hiking, and non-motorised bicycle access? Our natural resources need to be respected!

I look forward to the day fuel will be so expensive that no one can afford to ride offroad vehicles. Hopefully by then we'll have less expensive hybrid vehicles so I can afford one.

Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect.
Chief Seattle, 1854

When all the trees have been cut down,
When all the animals have been hunted,
When all the waters are polluted,
When all the air is unsafe to breathe,
Only then will you discover
You cannot eat money.
Cree Prophecy

Treat the earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents,
it was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors
We borrow it from our Children.
Ancient Indian Proverb

The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it

Holy Mackerel!!!

If you've visited there, you must be horrified to think that, through neglect, it could be demolished.
The Canyonlands are so magnificent, words, honestly, can't describe it.
It brings the old Western movies back to life.

We mustn't permit this to happen.
