The Great White is at the top of it's food chain. It has been shown time again that this kind of action is detrimental to the whole food chain. The repercussions of such as knee-jerk reaction could be catastrophic to the environment as a whole. This kind of reactionism is indicative of our short term human centric attitude that has caused so many of our problems in the first place.

Signed. Sharks have been decimated along the Pacific shores of Mexico and Southern California over the past 20 years and it's negatively impacted the balance of marine life. We humans must find a more intelligent, balanced way to survive and share the same habitat without killing. We do not have to answer every threat or challenge with killing just because that's the easy, lazy way to re-shape the problem.

Signed. How ironic that people kill other animals because they have ben labeled aggressive and dangerous yet look at who really commits violence and kills wantonly. If one looks at eh news it is the people raping, killing, starting wars, and so on. We are much more dangerous than any shark or pit bull or lion. It is we who are the most dangerous animal on the planet. Give me shark any day.

I'm very upset that the government has said that they will start killing these animals as a preventative measure, that is unfair because the ocean belongs to the fish, people have no business going into their territory!!

Done, these are fabulous top predators who have existed in this form unchanged for millions of years. They are under attack by fishermen for their fins.

If we go into their environment then we must expect that some may attack them believing them to be seals. To kill such beautiful and essential marine animals because we want to go surfing or paddling is unacceptable.

There is a purpose why sharks are a part of our life chain. Man is to protect the animals on earth, not destroy them at whim. Let scientists continue to observe and study the life of sharks to learn more of their purpose on earth. With this study, we may be able to discover why they do some of the things they do.

Noted and signed. Isaac Bashevis Singer Nobel Peace Prize Winner wrote in his book, 'Enemies a love story', "As often has Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought. In their behaviour toward creatures, all men were Nazi’s. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplify the most extreme racist theories the principle that might is right. Lest we forget!
