Voters will decide whether or not Romney gets to fire Big Bird, but this is certainly not the first time right-wingers have painted a target on a fictional character.

Thanks Cal--putting them all together like this article did sounds so much like stories from the past of fascist and totalitarian regimes silencing anything that had the potential of being interpreted as a difference of opinion from the leader (remember Mussolini and Hitler and Marcos and some of the others which began last century in the Middle East and Africa?)...seems that the far right want to ensure America solidifies permanently into an oligarchy (power vested in a select or elite small number of people in a group like billionaires or corporate CEOs)

I'm more worried how kids will make out on a daily basis under repugliCON reign a little more than i am the PBS issue right now...
But seriously, how wacked and out of touch is this idiot to think that cutting a wonderful program (CPB) because it takes 1/100 of 1% that he must feel would do better in his own repugliCON coffers and projects?
hell, what he avoids in taxes would pay for the government yearly grant to them..
Something tells me he doesn't have a legacy trust set up with them either...go figure.
