“Externally, such a move would adversely impact Egypt’s relations with the Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, whose animosity towards Iran is well known,” said Idris. “What’s more, the Egyptian government is currently negotiating a hefty loan package from the IMF, which the U.S. would likely block in the event that Cairo restored relations with Tehran.”

I don't care where Egypt stands as regards Iran. Egypt is no longer an ally of the United States despite the election of the American educated Morsi. I think we ought not only block the IMF loan we ought end all foreign aid immediately, saving us 1.5 billion dollars a year. Leave them to live within the means of their own economy. What? That is only 230 billion dollars? Surely that is enough to take care of their needs and grow their economic engine and support their military. No problem. Leave them to it. Let them be the pariah among nations that Iran is, that Saudi Arabia should be. Let the middle east solve its own problems, our only real ally there is Israel and given the movement to expel Jews from every country in Europe being forced by muslim immigrants, it is the only country we should be in support of, the only civilized nation in that "cradle of civilization". Spend the money we spend on foreign aid to all muslim countries on developing a green alternative fuel and let them live on their oil, it is all they have to offer but terror and beheadings.

Hard to judge. Egypt start closer towards West (USA) before spring revolution.Anyone could notice big
improvement comparing 2005 and 2010. Tourist industry survived.Let Middle East deals with itself
for a while.
