Thanks Cal. I was appalled during the 2nd presidential debate when Romney kept pounding Pres. Obama on how much of the public lands he was opening up to drilling. As if opening up public lands (that I thought our govt. was supposed to protect) was uneqivocably a good and desirable thing. I think the opposite myself. Somehow we have to convince our governmental representatives that the quick solution to our energy needs is not the path we want to take in the long run. Once this election is settled, maybe we can return to other issues. I just fervently hope that it's an Obama administration we'll be dealing with when it comes to environmental issues. I think there's still more hope for these causes with him.

When the disastrous effects of 'fracking' become apparent, I wonder what the politicians who sanctioned it will say, then?
Possibly, they hope they will be dead by then, but, rest assured, it will happen a long time before their demise.
