Gladly signed. It seems that in Colorado, students are taught to be as cruel as pôssible. No wonder they enjoy killing wolves, bears, ... and the like.

Teaching kids cruelty as if being humans wasn't enough.
Then we wonder why we have so many psychopaths and sadists in our society.
Colorado sucks!

Noted and signed, but I have a story to tell. When I was in Nurses training (R.N.) we had to pith (stab) the frogs to kill them and then dissect them to do experiments. I refused to do so and was told by my instructor that I would fail the class if I failed to do so. When she was not looking, I got one of my classmates to do the stabbing. Have had a guilty conscience ever since.

Noted and signed. This constant brutality has to stop! Teaching students that this is ok has also got to stop! I am sick unto death of those who think that they have the power of life and death whenever and wherever they wish to exert it. It is way passed time the world realize that using animals for experimentation is an outdated and cruel means of finding answers or cures. Use human cells! It is a far more accurate and the participants are willing and informed. But most of all, it is by their choice!

I signed this a while ago and this is the response that I received via e-mail.

Thank you for expressing your concerns about using animals in teaching environments at the University of Colorado Boulder.

We believe our policies and procedures that govern the use of animals in teaching and research represent best practices in American higher education, and follow federal government guidelines. We also believe that the animals in our care are treated humanely.

We invite you to visit our animal care and use policies web site to learn more about our procedures at http://www.colorado.edu/VCResearch/integrity/animalcare/Policy.html

Thank you again for your communication to me.

Sincerely,

Russell L.Moore, provost
University of Colorado Boulder

I just don't understand how what they are doing can be classed as 'humane'
