Even before the sun comes up, Reinaldo starts out on the two-hour journey to the school he attends in a small native village in Bolivia, hiking along steep, narrow paths that take him across ravines and rivers.

I applaud those children who truly want an education.

Thanks Cal for the link to the article by Marisabel Bellido. A very sad but also inspiring article and I do hope Reinaldo does make it to the university

Yes i agree with John B. i do hope Reinaldo goes to University and perhaps all the other children in his class.

The Bolivian government has got to get with this program and then some otherwise Bolivia will remain a third world country, and that would be very sad indeed.
The children deserve an education, and likewise those women and men who can afford and want to be educated should be able to through adult education programs.
"The Education Ministry is also working to implement the constitution adopted in 2009, which declared Bolivia a “plurinational” state, where the educational system must be inter-cultural and multilingual."

Thanks again Cal. Posted to Twitter.

If the Republicans had gotten their way....this could be the future of the US. Refusing to support schools with tax-payer funds means their eventual decline.
