Signed and noted, How sad, the increase would lead in deforestation, illegal hunting , and more snares in the forest,. This has to be stopped to save their population. Not those who are taking it over and destroying it, resulting in the end of, the endangered Mountain Gorilla's. Please, lets protect them while we still can !!!!

“Life is as dear to the mute creature as it is to a man. Just as one wants happiness and fears pain, just as one wants to live and not to die, so do other creatures.”——His Holiness The Dalai Lama

My prayer for all the abused, tortured, exploited and murdered victims

Compassion is the source of happiness in life….Without loving kindness and compassion, there is no peace or happiness in the family, the society, the country, or the world. 'With the Medicine Buddha mantra you can liberate numberless sentient beings from oceans of suffering and bring them to enlightenment.' - Lama Zopa. Tayata Om Bekanze Bekanze Maha BeKanze Radza Samudgate Soha
- Lama Zopa Rinpoche

“Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission—to be of service to them wherever they require it.”—Francis of Assisi

Peace and the survival of life on earth as we know it are threatened by human activities that lack a commitment to humanitarian values. Destruction of nature and natural resources results from ignorance, greed and lack of respect for the earth´s living things.

Please visit www.virungaart.com, and consider buying one of the beautiful woven baskets, carved figurines, or tea- everything is made by villagers who live near the mountain gorillas. By providing a market for their wonderful handmade goods, Virunga art is helping the people make a living, without having to encroach on the gorillas' forest home.
