Scientists have found high levels of arsenic in the soil and groundwater near a gold mine in the south Indian state of Karnataka, highlighting health hazards associated with mining the precious metal.

There is enough gold circulating the world. We need to start taking actions to clean up this world and stop wreaking havoc to our environment and the poor peoples being affected. You can be sure they are not bthe ones benefiting from the gold mining!

This is a known hazard. We should be inspecting the water downstream of mines (and prohibit mining on important rivers).
