Kudos to the state of California and Governor Jerry Brown, it's about time.

Noted. Finally it seems cap-and-trade has broken through the dysfunction of the 2 parties. A dirty environment knows no class or party. Hopefully, other states will fall in line behind CA in a domino effect that will force Congress to face this issue and other important environmental issues.

Noted, but it is notoriously difficult to get the allocation right as many countries have found out, and if you start with too a high a number of credits it just allows for green washing activities.

California is one of the leaders in their high standards, sadly it is passed on the the people that can't afford the standards. Then what happens they have no car, no business, no life.

I was living in California Kit when Jerry Brown was in office after his loser dad. They both took California for a ride down the road. Jerry Brown is no savor at all and sadly the people in California that voted him in were younger than I am and don't remember this Bozo's History!

I think this is awesome news. Now there is a real financial incentive for reducing emissions. CEOs have a hard time justifying the costs of these improvements without being able to show financial payback for the bottom line. Thanks for posting this Cal!

There are some things California gets right! They may have shot themselves in the head in 1978 with Proposition 13 and thereby watched the state's education ranking fall to put them at 43rd of all the states but air pollution gets their attention.
