Thanks. Of course, then there is the congress and senate to deal with, and then the changes required to the laws already passed, and he does want to be home early....

Think he should add something about climate change and cutting down on fossil fuel pollution / emissions.

I think that one of the things Pres. Obama should do is work to find a way to get rid of "The Pledge," about "never, ever" raising taxes that was written about in today's (11/20/12) NY Times. This thing has been run by Grover Norquist, a LOBBYIST, and seems totally UNETHICAL, to me, given that some congresspeople take an oath of office that this thing compromises, despite the fact that at the time of taking it,people are doing so voluntarily, though there may be some subtle group pressure to be 'One of the boys."

Thanks Cal for the link to the article. An excellent read (all three pages) and a wonderful list. Would have liked to have seen climate change and environmental issues mentioned listed as well. Read and noted.

Thanks, can't teach leadership but he needs to stop making speeches and start leading from the front.

We must also continue calling, e-mailing, writing, etc. our senators and represenatives to do their job in supporting the president.

Can we vote in Michael Moore? I'm afraid I became so disillusioned with Obama I just couldn't vote for him. I went 3rd Party this time as I certainly wasn't going to vote for the lost in the dark Republican Party. But I was dismayed to no end on the lackluster 4 years and his signing in of the NDAA, allowed the Patriot Act to stand, and never did bring back the Glass-Steagal.

Obama speaks of "clean coal" and to me is not on track to a better environment, we've lost 4 years of being the leaders to a better tomorrow, instead we had Sandy hit the New York area, another reminder we drag our feet. I do not for the life of me understand why, omg, why are we still in Afghanistan? Why should one more wife receive a folded flag, why should one more child cry beside his parents casket, and why do more parents bury their son and daughters from there? One more life is one too many.

So yes, let us ALL get our butts in gear, but as the President he needs to LEAD! I hope he does this time, I heard fine speeches that got him elected the first time only to fizzle out, so I hope all of you who voted for him keep a fire lite under his butt.

Love the quote, Elle - I was surprised to be still getting Dashboard announcements as well as a survey which asked which issues we'd be willing to work on. So, it would appear the President's agenda is a full one and he wants our help. I'd say we can hardly complain if we aren't willing to get busy...

You've got to love Michael Moore for speaking up. Now, he needs to address the Republicans in the Senate, the House and in Congress to get off their asses and back the President. That's what needs to be done. They lost big time because they sat on their asses for 4 years and voted against everything that would have helped ordinary Americans. They may never get elected to office again if they keep up their oppositional voting. The two party system is losing because of the tea party republicans and all of them who have forgotten that it is WE, THE PEOPLE...not you rich republicans for which this country was formed...with LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL....note, the ALL, not just the filthy rich!

As typical of Michael Moore, instead of asking for these points, why didn't he say "why didn't do the following in your first term?"
Obama has committed American lives to Afghanistan for years - hasn't Moore heard?
End the drug wars? Obama laughed at Arizona when they wanted to build a wall against illegals, and drug trafficking. He completely ignore this during his first term, nor do I think he will do anything in his second as this President has a bizarre favoritism toward people who should not be here - like several members of his family.
In order for Obamacare to have any value, it needs to be re-vamped.
:Declare a Moratorium Home Forclosurers"" Is Moore kidding? Last summer when people were trying to withdraw their money from large commercial banks, they were not allowed to. This illegal act was pure Obama. He will never touch the banking system.
"Reduce Student Loan Dept"- the man who says he is pro education, never did a thing about this. Why? For 2 reasons" again, it has to do with the banking industry, and any other for of lending institution.

Cal, thanks for this post.
I agree with most of Michael Moore's comments, but it for a lot of the changes he champions they will need more than democratic votes

Michael Moore is simply a film maker who considers himself a radical populace but in reality he's a propagandist who draws attention to himself by making outrageous observations about the United States.

Of course, the liberals would deem him "special." LOL!

Moore is awesome!

Let us not forget that the g o p pukes and teabaggers have used the filibuster to stall any real progress for the people in USA.

At least my good Representative got back in office.

Only in your own mind, Jason. You are even nasty on Thanksgiving Day. Did you sprinkle carpenter nails on your cheerios this morning? By the way, I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving today. I hope you'll be able to spend time with family and friends to enjoy this day of giving thanks for our great country, what we have in life and how we are able to help those in need. As taxpayers, we know that a portion of the taxes we pay go out to helping those who need that helping hand up.

By the way, Michael Moore is just one person who happens to make films. I hope he is having a nice Thanksgiving Day as well.

Well, Jason, I am very sorry to hear that. I cannot imagine what you are going through. I buried my mother two months ago and I was devastated. I am sending my heartfelt condolences to you and I'm very sorry for your loss. No wonder you stay in a bad mood. You are going through a lot right now.

I would agree wih every one of Michael Morre's 10 points. I would also agree with these additions:

Address "The Pledge." Any Representative or Senator who has signed it has violated his or her oath of office, since he or she places the interests of an outside organization above the interests of his constituents. He or she also has entered into a written agreement with an outside organization that limits a reasonable review of all issues and options, which has to constitute a "mental reservation."

Address climate change This is so major and obvious that the reasons would take up too much space here. It's not difficult to find them.

Doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is still a pretty good description of insanity. Economically, we have been doing the same thing over and over since Reagan was elected (with the exception of the much-needed break of the Clinton administration) and the economy has continued to get worse (unless, of course, you are very rich). It is way past time to change our national actions into something that works. What we really need is FDR on steroids.

I might just briefly note than an intelligent person who has correct ideas remains an intelligent person who has correct ideas regardless of his or her occupation or profession. I am not aware of any occupations or professions which require a lobotomy in order to start practicing them.

The only reason Bill Clinton looked good in his second term was because he reached across the aisle and engaged with the republicans. Made Clinton look like a rock star even though he was impeached for lying under oath. He also said he showed a surplus when in fact he pulled that money out of social security and left IOU's in its place.

Michael Moore is an amazing film-maker and activist. And Bill Clinton still looks darn good - I bet if he could run for president, he'd get elected again. But maybe it's Hilary's turn next....

Diane O. (149)
Thursday November 22, 2012, 11:10 am
That's right, Arielle, Michael Moore is a film maker. You stated that Bill Clinton still looks good? He was impeached for lying under oath for having sex in the White House just one of his sordid affairs and you think that looks good? Hillary Clinton can never win a presidential nomination. She is OUT. The DNC did a number on her making room for Obama then gave her Secretary of State to keep her busy and quiet.

My, my, I just got back to this after taking a break from cooking the feast today. Looks like Diane O loves to rant about her beliefs or does she just get a kick out of trying to look superior and putting everyone else down. I believe you can have your own opinions without being nasty. Maybe Diane needs to go back to bed and get up on the other side...she got up on the wrong side for this Care2 piece! Maybe she is just lonely today! Happy Thanksgiving Diane.....maybe you'll feel better soon....get well!

"Looks like Diane O loves to rant about her beliefs or does she just get a kick out of trying to look superior and putting everyone else down?" Dear Becky, I believe the answer is Yes.

Diane O. (149)
Thursday November 22, 2012, 12:18 pm
Why, Becky, I'm only stating the truth. Did I lie somewhere? Please tell me where I lied. Once you can do that then I'll apologize for doing exactly what you are doing....making personal comments. No need for me to go back to bed....I'm up, cooking our Thanksgiving dinner, baking pies, put up the Christmas tree, and folded two loads of laundry. I'm raring to go!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Becky. I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

No. It's moron sheep like you, Diane. You people take your hate marching orders from the fox rich and plow them right over the truthers.

How do you take condolences from a sociopath? Should I pretend it has meaning?
