My phone is a phone, and my laptop is my computer, and I really don't want them talking to each other.

Folks, face the ugly truth: idiot gadgets like "smart fines" ARE UNDOUBTEDLY detrimental both to human health and to the environment.

oops: fones, phones (of course)

Great Rule2 of Thumb:
1) (newspeak 001:) " wireless " = electro-polluting
2) generally: Don't buy any$hit you have ever seen advertizing for.
3) especially: if the eco-, omni- and suicidal consumerist-terroris $y$tem labels anything as "smarT" (or similar) -- just be aware that it's aimed at the very opposite: at idiots and making idiots of us all

4) for every gram of microchips (like in all them idiot-gadgets) you buy, industry has already poured out dozens of kg of "waste", and some of it highly toxic -- even if the grams of chip were "recycled" (which they aren't) that would be of little improvement, over all

Well I'll be! **%%%&*_!

This here new technology is going to be our ruin, I tell ya! :)
Probably true, we do seem to "discover and cash in" before we recognize the detrimental risks involved!

Let's also not forget the virtual slave labor that the people making these phones are forced to endure so these companies, especially Apple, can pump out the latest version of phones all the time.

OMG - This should be Front Page News!! Glad I still use my very basic - no bells or whistles - cell phone. It's only for emergencies anyway. I am sharing this article with many (non-Care2) friends. Thanks!!!

BTW, It is so sad these days being older to see children always on some computer or hand held game, I long to see children reading books, playing in the school yard. Those days are gone thank you ALL OF YOU TECK POS
