Thanks cal for the link to the article and it is absolutely disgusting what has been done to these people, twice.
I would hope they have standing to sue Dow under the Alien Tort Statute of 1789. I would certainly like to see that happen. Read and noted.

Noted w/thanks, Cal. This is a disaster within a disaster. As I was reading, I thought "these people are treated like guinea pigs"...then I read the headline of the next section stating that. My heart goes out to these people--their rights have been trampled on for decades and they deserve justice.

BAN ALL TOXINS FROM EARTH MOTHER NOW.
When I was in India, reports in the news were front page on the lack of morality displayed by Dow and Union Carbide. NOT HERE! Who ever reads about these horrors in the states? Please avoid purchasing products that are NOT ORGANIC and EARTH/LIFE - FRIENDLY. Let's unite and impoverish these horrible corporations.

Arthur: please think before using possessive term such as in "our" Native Americans. I know you mean well, but, distinguishing between people in such a way is what is wrong with the thinking and perception to begin with. I am from chiefs and other tribal people, and I never think of others as being "our", even "our" thieves, oppressors, invaders, etc. There is no "our" here.

Noted & posted on my Twitter page. I'm speechless. Yvette you sound knowledgeable on this. I had heard allegations that this disaster was caused by a disgruntled employee who didn't get a promotion. Is there any truth to that allegation or was that damage control started by Dow?

Absolutely shameful! The poor are so often used and abused and have no one to defend them...

I am so appalled. No wonder America is hated in so many places around the world. People see these money hungry, do anything for a profit and don't admit it corporations, as America.
