There is NO such thing as "illegally" promoting Human Rights.

Russia found that out when they tried to sue Madonna for the same thing, and LOST.

Noted. Thanks, Cal. Good for Lady Gaga! If Russian leaders continue their attacks on American artists playing in their country, their people will not be happy if artists refuse to continue to play there.

What Lois said! Boycotting performances in Russia would be an effective way to thumb our noses at Putin!

If Putin is so worried about human rights, he should stop selling arms to the Syrian government!

Rights in Russia = WRONGS, especially in the music business where there is no, "free speech". Opinions sung out, are silenced.
Go Gaga ! She tried to send a strong message, not just for American bands, but the injustice and persecution of their own, who do, sending them away for years, to isolated prison camps.

Thanks Cal for the link to the article. I hope this suit is laughed out of court just as the one against Madonna was. Read and noted.

Bands that do play in Russia, have to sign riders, with so many stipulations, many managers, labels, and the bands themselves, won't sign or if do, adhere to them., In Moscow and Saint Petersburg, it is a bit more lax, but not outside.

The problem, as I see it, is I don't like what Russia is doing, but I dislike Lady Gaga more.

Russia has problems with human rights and animal welfare. It might be better if celebrities boycott Russia unitl it comes around to progressive ways.

Aside from the gay issue, it's so amusing that Putin can't deal with strong .Western. opinionated women.

First, Madonna, now, Lady Gaga. Hmm, the common denominator is Russia. I guess they just can't stand smart, intelligent, and strong women.

Interestingly enough, as a straight male, i find most LGBT discriminate against me or treat me poorly whereas i treat them with dignity and respect

Good on you, Lady Gaga! It's great to see artists fighting for rights of LGBTI Russians.
