One of the most important coastal wetlands in the Americas is under threat. The Upper Bay of Panama, an Important Bird Area, is a vital stopover site for migrating shorebirds.

That seems to be a way, find a pristine area and build there.

Maybe a major cull of the species starting at the top of course is what's needed. Maybe then we will come to our senses.

Thanks for posting. This is a serious problem, these ecosystems are so so hard to recover, it takes so long that all should be protected!!

So many wetlands have been destroyed around the planet -- yet they are very vital for ecosystems, water cycles and creatures. I hope these can be preserved.
